Mechanism of Action
Aβ monomers undergo conformational change exposing hydrophobic core (residues 17-21: LVFFA), forming β-sheet-rich oligomers. Nucleation-dependent polymerization: monomers → oligomers → protofibrils → mature fibrils. Oligomers are most neurotoxic species.
