Overview
BNP → Neprilysin (Substrate) is a bioactive peptide with well-characterized properties and therapeutic applications.
Mechanism of Action
Neprilysin cleaves BNP at Cys10-Phe11, Met12-Val13, and other sites within the 17-membered disulfide ring, producing inactive fragments. BNP normally acts via NPR-A receptor (GC-A) to generate cGMP, promoting natriuresis and vasodilation.
