Overview
GIP → DPP-4 (Substrate) is a bioactive peptide with well-characterized properties and therapeutic applications.
Mechanism of Action
DPP-4 cleaves N-terminal Tyr1-Ala2 dipeptide from GIP, producing GIP (3-42) which has greatly reduced receptor binding affinity. GIP normally acts via GIPR (class B GPCR) to stimulate insulin secretion in a glucose-dependent manner.
