Overview
GLP-1 → GLP-1R is a bioactive peptide with well-characterized properties and therapeutic applications.
Mechanism of Action
GLP-1 binds to the extracellular domain and transmembrane core of GLP-1R, a class B GPCR. Binding induces conformational changes activating Gαs-cAMP-PKA signaling cascade, stimulating glucose-dependent insulin secretion from pancreatic β-cells.
