Structure
Faster-acting insulin aspart (Fiasp) contains the same aspart molecule but includes niacinamide (vitamin B3) and L-arginine as excipients. Niacinamide promotes local vasodilation at the injection site, accelerating initial absorption.
Clinical Applications
Approved for type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Provides faster onset than standard aspart, allowing dosing at meal start rather than 15-20 minutes before.
