Overview
NPY → Y1R is a bioactive peptide with well-characterized properties and therapeutic applications.
Mechanism of Action
NPY binds Y1R (class A GPCR), activating Gαi/o → inhibits adenylyl cyclase → reduces cAMP. Also modulates Ca2+ channels and K+ channels. Stimulates appetite (orexigenic effect), vasoconstriction, and anxiolysis.
