imaging radiolabeled pet application

Overview

Peptide imaging agents use receptor-targeting peptides conjugated to radionuclides or fluorophores for molecular imaging.

Modalities

  • PET imaging: Ga-68, F-18, Cu-64 labeled peptides
  • SPECT imaging: Tc-99m, In-111 labeled peptides
  • Fluorescence imaging: NIR dye-peptide conjugates
  • Theranostics: Combined imaging and therapy

Examples

Ga-68 DOTATATE PET for neuroendocrine tumors, Ga-68 PSMA for prostate cancer, and RGD peptides for tumor angiogenesis imaging.

Clinical Significance

Theranostic pairs (e.g., Ga-68 DOTATATE/Lu-177 DOTATATE) enable same-day diagnosis and therapy.
