Types

  • Small molecule mimetics: Non-peptide compounds

Applications

Peptide mimetics improve oral bioavailability, metabolic stability, and receptor selectivity. Examples include tirofiban (GPIIb/IIIa mimetic) and boceprevir (protease inhibitor).
