Overview

PYY → DPP-4 (Substrate) is a bioactive peptide with well-characterized properties and therapeutic applications.

Mechanism of Action

DPP-4 cleaves N-terminal Tyr1-Pro2 dipeptide from PYY (1-36), producing PYY (3-36) which is the active anorexigenic form preferentially binding Y2R and Y5R. PYY (3-36) reduces appetite and gastric emptying via hypothalamic Y2R.
